Lock & McBride (or Locke & Peterson...caption on photo differs from mount) circa 1890's, image showing Harney Peak through a gap in large rock formation. Photo caption indicates "on the B&M Railway" though it is a couple miles to the railroad bed, which is now the Mickelson Trail. The gravel road which now passes through this gap is called Palmer Creek Road, and runs between Hwy. 244 and Hwy. 87, southeast of Hill City, S.D.
